16-bit Programs and 64-bit Windows

DesignaKnit 7 and Fittingly Sew 1.2 are 16-bit programs, which means that they will run only under 16- and 32-bit versions of Windows, and not under 64-bit versions. Microsoft have withdrawn support for 16-bit programs under 64-bit Windows.

In order to get round this incompatibility, advanced Windows users can try installing a 32-bit version of Windows under their 64-bit Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10 / 11, and run DesignaKnit 7 or Fittingly Sew 1.2 under that. However, there isn't an easy way to describe how to do that. Installing Microsoft's Virtual Windows is not something we'd recommend an ordinary computer user to do, and we are unable to offer support for it. DesignaKnit 8 & 9 and Fittingly Sew 2 & 3 are fully compatible with 64-bit Windows.
